HOW TO BE HAPPY

Often when we think we are happy and content, then something somewhere goes wrong to upset us. Sometimes our mood will just change and we don’t get why there can be many reasons but instead of focusing on that let's see how we can change our mood.

What is happiness?

Everyone has their definition of happiness. This is because happiness has no definition, you are happy when you feel content and fulfilled with what is happening at the moment. Everyone’s moment is different.

Don’t let mistakes ruin your happiness

We are human, we generally beat ourselves up when we make a mistake thinking “How can I make such a silly mistake?” but that is only human nature. You can learn from that mistake or cry over it which will not help. Mistakes are looked at as something bad, but mistakes will only make you better at whatever you do. Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb in one try he failed a 1,000 times before he was successful.

Create a balance between work and play

It gets frustrating to work all the time, even for those who love their job. Everyone needs a break to rest mentally and physically to get back to productive working. If you’re working from home have a separate area for working, just a table with your laptop will do. This creates a separate space for working and relaxing. If you have a 9 to 5 job then only if needed and necessary do some work at home but have some time left for yourself at the end or the start of the day.

Have some quality me-time

I think this is so important, we need some alone time. Some love being surrounded by people all the time and some prefer to be alone most of the times, regardless we need downtime for just ourselves. It’s important to do this to not lose yourself among all the people you’re surrounded with. The time you need to spend will vary. To understand other people we need to start by understanding our self and to do that we need to spend time alone.

Build meaningful relationships

We as humans survive on forming bonds and relationships with others. We may think we are loners but we all crave a relationship/friendship at some point in our life. To grow as mature beings we need to socialize to get a better understanding of things. We need friends in our life that will always encourage us and look out for us and even shout at us when we stray away. Even those relationships that do not last will always teach us something, we must only have the eye to look out for that.

Speak up for yourself

Many times someone will say something offensive to us or our beliefs, some speak up and some don’t. To those who don’t, it can be due to self-esteem issues or that you don’t care what others say. Whatever the reason you must stand up for yourself.

There is no need to fight or get violent, but you can clear it out. If they don’t listen, well, there is no point in pouring water on ducks back. Never let people walk over you or take advantage of your kindness.

Above all let the words of someone not get you down and change your image in your own eyes.
