LIFE IS BEYOND MARKS.

Even though many people today understand that there is a lot beyond our books and marks there are a few that would disagree. There is so much school hasn’t taught us.

Even though I love my school there is one thing that I vividly remember, that is all the mugging up. There is so much emphasis put on marks and grades today that students forget to learn in this process.

Marks may be important but they aren't everything.

This article is mainly my rant about how marks are important when it comes to getting into a reputed college, and that’s where it ends. Many will argue that they need good marks to have an impressive resume but I could argue. What’s the point in having an impressive resume if one cannot even understand the basic practicalities of their job?

There is a difference in getting good marks and being smart.

Now, from personal experience, I can say that failure has taught me more than any teacher ever has. However, I have seen a handful of good teachers who genuinely love their subject and I have nothing but respect for them.

To realize my potential I had to fail and get up to realize that if I put my mind to something I can achieve it. This isn’t only me but everyone reading this.

It’s all a completion now, students who get 90 wish they got higher, they compare themselves. They relate their worth with their marks and that is messed up. I feel it’s about time this craze for marks must end.

Students must work hard to gain knowledge and understand what they study not to get marks but to learn more.

Over the years I have been studying for marks and it's not until 4 years back when I realized I remember nothing of what I learnt in school. I finally realized if I carry on like this I will never gain knowledge and never understand what I love and what I don’t.

However, some do remember what they studied in school that was directed to those who just mug up blindly. My main goal here is to ask children to learn to enjoy school, it’s a fun and amazing time that will stick with you. Everyone should experience this fun but it won’t be possible if you’re worrying about marks.

Sometimes it’s just not possible to enjoy the studying process and there is no option but to mug up. But in whatever you mug up learn something that can be beneficial for you. Try and make it exciting if possible.

I want everyone to understand that fewer marks aren't the end, there is always round two. Yes, it may not be the best option and seem shameful but in all honesty, you can’t avoid failure forever. Small failure teaches you how to deal with bigger problems.

Failing does not mean you lost, giving up means you lost. When you fail, you see no way up at that moment, but they're always is one. Giving yourself time to recover is the best option.

Don’t expect to be a lion when you have just been wounded, let time take its course to heal and you will be back on the field.
